GO Solid Turning adds a solid and surface workflow to turning. Import CAD models, prepare part geometry and use solid-model information when programming machining operations.
The package combines modeling, profile extraction and automated multi-tool methods. Machine simulation provides a way to inspect motion and setup before production.

Solid modeling
Start with imported CAD, a newly created solid or a part that needs manufacturing edits. Solid-modeling tools and history trees support construction and modification of the model used for machining.
Surface-model import and repair
Import surface models, repair geometric problems and create additional machining surfaces. This supports jobs supplied as surfaces as well as preparation for a solid-based workflow.
CAD import
Supported formats include Parasolid, ACIS/SAT, STEP and VDA, plus Solid Edge, SOLIDWORKS and Inventor files. Optional interoperability extensions cover PTC, CATIA and NX.
Automatic solidification
Imported or newly created surfaces can be stitched into solid bodies. The resulting solid can be edited with modeling tools or used directly for machining.
Solid positioning tools
Position and orient solids without manually calculating transformations. These tools support multi-piece models and placement of the workpiece relative to fixtures and coordinate systems.
Direct 2.5D solid machining
Program machining directly from the solid body and its geometric information. This connects model preparation with the definition of 2.5D machining operations.
Profiler
The turning Profiler interactively derives a solid’s rotational outline. The programmer controls which geometric elements form the turning profile instead of relying solely on automatic recognition.
Advanced solid turning kinematics
Interpolated, eccentric and elliptical turning are supported on both milling and turning centers, including off-center features on large or awkwardly positioned parts.
Machine simulation
Simulation uses a machine-tool model to review programmed motion and setup. This provides an opportunity to identify programming problems before running the job on the machine.
Probing, optional add-on
The optional Probing add-on programs setup measurements and in-process inspection. Measurement cycles are inserted as G-code at selected points, with probe positioning, orientation and safe moves handled by the software.
